Bharatnatyam

Aaradhana Kala Kendra
Introduction

Bharatnatyam is an ancient and well-known classical dance form in India, with divine origins and a reputation for virtue and chastity. According to tradition, Brahma created this move frame in response to the Devas' request to create a Veda that the average person could understand. It is widely thought that Brahma's fifth Veda spread through Bharat Muni, who wrote the book of scriptures of ancient movements known as 'Natyashastra'.

According to Natyashastra, this move shape includes Natya, Nirtta, and Nritya. The move frame blends smooth and delicate body developments in a unique and exquisite style. This is directly tied to the locale and religion; thus, its origins may be traced back to Tamil Nadu and is primarily performed in temples.

This move frame is quite difficult, thus preparation for it should begin at a very young age. It has a significant impact on history and tradition, and hence this move could be learnt under the legitimate supervision of a master instructor. There are various teachers who offer Bharatnatyam classes in Delhi. Gandharva Mahavidyalaya is one of the famous foundations promoting Bharatnatyam classes in Delhi.
